Munnar Tour Package

Arrive at Kochi (Cochin) International Airport or railway station and meet the driver for the journey towards Munnar. The route begins in Kerala's busy lowlands before gradually moving through smaller towns, agricultural areas and the greener foothills of the Western Ghats.

As the road climbs, the landscape becomes increasingly mountainous. Forested slopes and plantation areas begin replacing the lower countryside, and closer to Munnar the hills are covered by extensive tea plantations. Suitable scenic stops can be made where road, weather and traffic conditions allow.

Arrive in Munnar and check into the hotel or resort. Keep the later part of the day relatively relaxed after the mountain journey, allowing time to enjoy the cooler climate and plantation surroundings. If daylight remains, take a short local walk or scenic drive before returning to the hotel. Overnight stay in Munnar.

After breakfast, proceed to Eravikulam National Park, subject to seasonal opening, conservation regulations and official visitor limits. The protected landscape consists of high-altitude grasslands and shola vegetation and is particularly associated with the Nilgiri tahr. Wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

Continue towards Mattupetty Dam, where the reservoir is surrounded by rolling hills and plantation scenery. From here, proceed to Echo Point, travelling through some of Munnar's characteristic tea-growing countryside. Any boating activity available around the reservoir areas can be taken separately according to local operations and personal interest.

Later, visit a suitable Tea Museum or Tea Visitor Centre, subject to opening hours, for an introduction to Munnar's tea-growing history and processing traditions. Spend some additional time viewing the surrounding tea plantations before returning to the hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Munnar.

After breakfast, check out and begin the journey towards Alleppey (Alappuzha). The route descends from the Western Ghats, and the landscape changes noticeably as Munnar's cool mountain slopes and tea estates gradually disappear behind.

Closer to Alleppey, Kerala's lowland scenery becomes dominant, with coconut palms, paddy fields, villages and waterways spread across the countryside. On arrival, check into the confirmed backwater accommodation or board a houseboat when one is specifically included in the booked package.

Spend time experiencing the Alleppey Backwaters, where canals and broader waterways pass waterside homes, coconut groves and agricultural land. If a houseboat or cruise is confirmed, the exact route will depend on navigation and operating conditions. Otherwise, enjoy the backwater surroundings from the selected hotel or resort. Overnight stay in Alleppey.

After breakfast, enjoy a final look at Alleppey's waterside surroundings before checking out. Begin the road journey towards Cochin, leaving the backwater region and travelling through Kerala's populated central lowlands towards the main transport gateway.

If the confirmed flight or train is scheduled sufficiently late, available time can be used for a short visit to Fort Kochi. Important landmarks here include St. Francis Church and the waterfront Chinese Fishing Nets. Any such sightseeing should only be included when there is comfortable time before departure.

At the appropriate time, transfer to Cochin International Airport or railway station for the onward journey. The four-day tour concludes after connecting Munnar's tea plantations, Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point and the contrasting landscape of the Alleppey Backwaters.
